Singapore, September 3, 2026 (Global Newswire) — LD-PD PTE. LTD. today announced the availability of engineering samples of its latest 400 mW high-power continuous-wave (CW) laser, designed to address the demanding performance requirements of next-generation co-packaged optics (CPO) and silicon photonics applications.

The new 1311 nm laser features a compact chip-on-carrier (CoC) package, combining high optical output power, precise performance, and low noise in a compact form factor. It delivers more than 400 mW of stable optical output power at an operating temperature of 55°C, with a spectral linewidth below 200 kHz and relative intensity noise (RIN) below -145 dB/Hz.

Built on LD-PD’s proven buried heterostructure distributed feedback (BH DFB) laser platform, the device is designed to provide high performance while maintaining the reliability and scalability required for volume production. The combination of high output power, narrow linewidth, and low RIN makes the laser well suited for emerging optical interconnect and silicon photonics applications.
"Our new 400 mW CW laser delivers a combination of high output power, low noise, and operating stability that addresses key challenges in next-generation silicon photonics and co-packaged optics," said Tim Foon, Deputy Global Sales Director of Photonic Devices at LD-PD PTE. LTD.
"As optical interconnect architectures continue to evolve toward higher bandwidth and greater integration, we are expanding our high-power InP laser portfolio to support these emerging requirements. Our upcoming 4-inch InP (indium phosphide) wafer fab in Shanghai, China, is expected to increase our production capacity by more than five times, strengthening our ability to support the growing global demand for InP-based laser devices."
The new 400 mW CW laser further expands LD-PD's portfolio of high-performance photonic devices, providing customers with additional options for optical interconnect, silicon photonics, and other high-speed photonic applications.
Engineering samples are currently available to selected customers, with volume production and broader commercial availability expected in Q4 2026.
Visitors to ECOC 2026 are invited to meet with the LD-PD team at Booth 1119 to learn more about the new 400 mW CW laser and explore the company's broader portfolio of laser, photodetector, and photonic solutions.
